Stand With Crypto eyes most pro-Bitcoin Congress in 2026

Stand With Crypto has predicted that the United States is on course to elect its most pro-Bitcoin Congress, as the advocacy group urged digital asset supporters to vote in the Nov. 3 midterm elections.

Summary

  • Stand With Crypto’s campaign has backed 45 candidates across House and Senate races.
  • Mason Lynaugh expects the next Congress to be the most supportive of Bitcoin yet.
  • Senate endorsements include Jon Husted, Ashley Hinson and Chris Pappas across three states.
  • The group has tied its election campaign to passing federal crypto market structure legislation.

Bitcoin Magazine shared a video of Stand With Crypto executive director Mason Lynaugh on Election Day, quoting him as saying, “We are on track to have the most pro-Bitcoin congress in history.”

The organization issued its own appeal on X, telling supporters that Washington had spent years making decisions about crypto without hearing from the people using it. “Today, we get the final word,” the post said, before urging people to vote.

Stand With Crypto has backed 42 House candidates and three Senate hopefuls

The campaign’s 45 endorsements comprise 42 House candidates and three Senate candidates, based on the organization’s published endorsement rounds. Its September announcement added seven names to the 38 House candidates it had previously supported.

In its September announcement, the group named Republican Sen. Jon Husted in Ohio, Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson in Iowa and Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas in New Hampshire as its Senate choices.

The four new House endorsements went to Democratic Rep. Shomari Figures in Alabama, Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks in Iowa, Republican candidate Derek Merrin in Ohio and Democratic candidate Janelle Stelson in Pennsylvania.

Separately, the organization committed extra advertising resources to six House contests. Its selected candidates were Don Davis in North Carolina, Susie Lee in Nevada, Zach Nunn in Iowa, Bryan Steil in Wisconsin, Merrin and Stelson.

Candidate ratings draw on votes and public statements

Stand With Crypto’s August endorsement round added 32 House incumbents from both parties. The organization said its candidate grades draw on public statements, legislative records and responses to its questionnaire.

As crypto.news previously reported, the 32 endorsed lawmakers had all supported the CLARITY Act when it passed the House in July 2025. The list included Republicans Tom Emmer and Bill Huizenga alongside Democrats Ritchie Torres and Josh Gottheimer.

The organization’s voter hub lets users enter an address to find local races and compare candidates’ crypto positions. Its election tools include registration checks, polling-location information and early-voting resources.

During the Bitcoin Magazine interview published Oct. 23, Lynaugh described a network of 3.1 million advocates, 50 state chapters and 47 college chapters. The interview’s description connected his congressional forecast to the group’s final voter mobilization campaign ahead of the midterms.

The campaign had started with six incumbent endorsements. At a May appearance in Miami, Lynaugh outlined its strategy of targeting races where supporters could influence close results, while the organization reported 2.7 million advocates at that stage.

CLARITY Act setback shaped the Senate campaign

Following the Senate’s September failure to advance the CLARITY Act, Lynaugh said the group’s advocates were concentrating on electing lawmakers who would carry its push for clear crypto rules into Congress.

The failed procedural vote ended 49-50, with one senator absent, on Sept. 15. The motion required 60 votes to advance; senators were voting on whether to take up the legislation, not on final passage.

Husted voted in favor of that motion. Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst, whose seat Hinson is seeking, voted yes as well. New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, whose seat Pappas is contesting, voted no.

The federal bill record describes CLARITY as legislation establishing SEC and CFTC regulation of digital commodity offers and sales. Its provisions address the federal framework governing digital asset businesses and trading.

Bitcoin reserve legislation has advanced through a House panel

Bitcoin reserve policy has a separate legislative track. The House Financial Services Committee approved an amended bill by 28-21 on Sept. 16 to place the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve into federal law.

The committee-approved American Reserve Modernization Act proposes a minimum 20-year holding period for Bitcoin deposited into the reserve, alongside annual proof-of-reserve reporting.

Its text directs Treasury and Commerce to study budget-neutral acquisition methods without new taxes, borrowing, or deficit spending. A voluntary custody program would allow states to deposit Bitcoin into segregated Treasury accounts while retaining ownership of their assets.
